Happy New Year, Happy New Baby

Wow, the world has changed so much today. Welcoming the new year. Lauren got her learners permit--pretty exciting stuff.

Of course, like always Samantha has to top it with this...

Hospital lighting sucks and does no justice to this beautiful little girl. She came via C-section at 4 today and is 8 lb 1 oz. Ok, so I forgot to see how long she was--details details. Thick head of hair though. And most important--healthy, healthy, healthy!!!

I will write more later..But I hope this upcoming year is a blessed one for all of you. I'm pretty content with my lot in life right now and will continue on this path.
PS--Lauren just told me she was 19 inches long. So there.

Merry Christmas my friends...

I know I've been away for a while. I didn't mean to ignore you all. It's been a busy month for everyone I guess.

Christmas eve however is typical over here. The fireplace is glowing and the cat is sprawled in front of it. The tree lights are on and it's a nice quiet time after a day at work. I should also mention Tom is terrorizing Lauren and I by making us watch "The Christmas Story"--again. I've actually been pretty fortunate as this is the first run I've had to sit through so far this season. Usually they have a marathon on Christmas eve and the movie plays repeatedly about 10 to 12 times in a row. "C+ hahahaha, you'll shoot your eye out"!!

Just a quick update, there is no baby yet. I'm pretty cranky about it and impatient at this point. I initially wanted the baby to come after Christmas, but Sam is so miserable now that I am just as anxious as she is to have this happen. I'm certain I will make you crazy with baby photo's once she arrives so pity to you.

I did a photo shoot with Lauren for her to use as Christmas cards for her friends. I hate to tease that but I think they turned out a bit racy to post here. I'm the mom after all. I reworked the concept a little and got two girls to sit for me. Below are the results. These girls have been friends since before they started school. They started by being the tag alongs to our older girls in the Girl Scout troop. I really enjoyed seeing them and am so glad that they continue to be such tight friends. Tell me what you think.

I heard a doctor on a baby show (Samantha never stops watching these right now) make some stupid remark about ADHD so I think on my next blog I'll share some of those thoughts. ADHD is very interesting. Let's just say I'm glad I have Tom around to keep my from some serious error in judgements caused by it. His latest save was when he talked me out of buying a taser for Lauren (I'm still not thoroughly convinced though) take a look below, they are so cute right?? Who knew they came in all those pretty colors!! It's not shown but they have pink ones too. Instead she's doing driver's ed, I still think my idea is safer.

I hope all of you are happily ensconced with friends and family this holiday. And may your turkey's remain free of the "Bumpass' dogs" . Oh no, the movie just finished and it appears the marathon lives this year as well---damned that TBS!

Merry Christmas from The Fevola Family!!

The Quixotic

$1.48 . That's the price of gas at Independence and McDermott. Pretty impressive stuff.

My Navbar works on my smug website. As a matter of fact, I think I have most of it working. Now, it's just about tweeking and tweeking. I don't think that ever stops.

Take a look at the options for holiday cards that are on my smugmug. I'm getting ready to add a bunch of birth announcements as well as other cards so be on the lookout for those.

One of my camera lenses broke. My favorite lens. The motor isn't working and I am heartbroken. We sent it back to Nikon for repair. I think they said 3 weeks for it to get back. How does this happen right at Christmas and with Samantha due at any minute? Oh well, the original lens will have to do for now.

Now to tell you about the Quixotic. This is actually the name of a venue downtown. Talk about Alice in Wonderland. This place is just like going down the rabbit hole and the owner is the Mad Hatter himself. This crazy artistic fellow turns his living space into this event venue. Go see the website when you have a chance at . I honestly have no words for it. We had a great night there although I admit I probably would have enjoyed the place more about 15 years ago... The smog machine made the photo's difficult. But I did enjoy the company of some really great people. I don't even think the pictures do it justice, but here goes.

Did I mention gas was 1.48??

The Good, the Bad and the absolutely Pathetic!!!

Let's get the pathetic outta the way. I am really hung up on the fact that we killed a Walmart greeter people. I don't know why I'm hanging onto this one. We read about bad things in the newspapers all the time but seriously this annoys me. Well, yes, I know he wasn't a greeter. I don't know what his job was but I imagine the greeter with his yellow stickers, not expecting he needs hazard pay for this job. This wasn't a robbery or even some post partem woman having a really bad day, this was some average Americans looking to save a buck. How do you not notice stomping a man to death on your way to getting your kids latest video game?? Ok--that's enough on that. Suffice to say I'm really cranky about this, we're gonna have to start doing a better job of taking care of each other.

Onto happier subjects. I took the photo below this evening. This was on Mcdermott and Alma. Leave me a message and let me know if you've seen it cheaper somewhere. Can you believe the average cost 6 months ago was between 3.90 and 4.00??? Wow, I can once again fill my tank for under $15 bucks. I'm saving about $20 bucks a week if not more and I have a wee tiny tank. (cheap car get's the cheap gas put into it) Some of you have monster tanks and are saving hundreds a month!! That's even more than what Walmart can save you on Black Friday!!

That reminds me, for all of you leaving me messages and feedback on this site and to my new email...Yay!! I really do appreciate it. I've gotten a lot of support regarding my new photo ventures and it's a lot less scary with you all supporting me.

Which leads to the final topic of the night. My photo website. For those of you who forgot the site is at . Let me first say, I've played with websites before, I used to have quite a significant Girl Scout website for our troop as well as for the Service unit. I helped on the Sea Cadet website and things like that. True honesty though is I used a program called FrontPage and it's pretty easy to use. The biggest thing on there is being creative and I'm all about that. I can't run my new site like those however because one thing we all remember, is that an ordinary website cannot handle that heavy a load on photographs. Hence the reason we use photobucket for the Sea Cadet pics, and hence the reason I'm using Smugmug for my site.

So, this new website can handle as many photo's as I can dump in there. Nice, smooth and won't choke up your computer. To make it pretty however, I have to know HTML. I don't know HTML. For goodness sake. Every little thing I manage to do on that site takes me hours of tutorials to figure out. When I finally get something done it's like the skies have opened up and the angels are singing. Take a peek at it and see how it's coming along. Got the whole new layout and the slideshow and the guestbook and wow, it's just moving along. I made that ugly personalized header (hear the harps??) And wow that navigation bar. Ok, now that is really ugly. But it's there which I'm very proud of. Admittedly it doesn't work. Not even a little. I think all the links either bring you back to the home page or to outer space somewhere. But it's there and I love my pathetic little nav bar. (yes, yes--I know--more tutorials for me)

I have new pretty stuff. I'll tell you about it all in the next day or so!!
