Railroad Lovin' (246)

Sometimes I walk near work, and I feel like I've ended up somewhere that "I" have no business being. And then I think to myself-"Wait a minute--did a dog do that or a person??"

All Greek to me....(248)

So, I've driven by this store for years. It's the same store that has that cute English telephone booth in front of it. There is never anyone parked there, just a little yellow sports car. I don't know how this business survives.

They've always had these alabaster looking greek statues in front. A couple months ago, I noted one was painted red. Then another one a couple days later, and another. After that several of the peices became blue.

Now, that is just ridiculous. As if the plain white alabaster statue wasn't appealing enough, painting them was supposed to make it better?? As if they weren't quite right for my backyard garden before, now however the blue urn is just the thing??

Pepsi and coke did research and found people would purchase their product more readily if they were packaged in red or blue.

Maybe that holds true to nekkid penis statues as well huh??

Awkward photos....(249)

Oh, so many things I want to say.

Firstly, I don't understand the whole toilet papering of homes. When did that become a good thing that happened to the popular teens instead of to the annoying cat ladies???

I'm editing a friends photo's. I thought these were going to be great..edgy...fresh. I'm thinking awkwardphotos.com here I come. What was I thinking?? Luckily enough there are a ton of other really good shots so I'm not having to rely on this.
I'm tired though, so more thoughts next time.

Scary Bushes (250)

Ok, the downside of walking with the dog. She starts scrounging around in high grasses and bushes. Sometimes I know it's not bunnies shes snuffing. I'm really nervous one day she is gonna chase a rat or skunk out at me. Damn dog.

So, this is the bunny munching out in the yard and then a nice stretch after.

Day or Night (251)

So today and yesterday I went for my normal walk, but this was different. It was early in the day. Bright and light. Usually I walk after dark. So, which did I like best?

During the day it definitely feels safer. You can see everything and there's so much to look at it keeps your mind pretty occupied. I also enjoyed my time in the sun and my daily dose of vitamin D. Not to mention my skin is chicken white and can use a bit of color. We won't discuss the fact that I also need a shave and looked like wooly mammoth legs.

But that's it I think. The benefits lie in walking at night. In the next couple weeks the weather is gonna continue to get hotter and be more difficult to walk during the day.

At night there is less to distract Buffy. Most folks have their dogs inside and the joggers and bikers aren't out. Buffy was trying to eat himself a nice biker today.

Most importantly, at night the dog poop is invisible. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Other side of the Tracks...(254)

Well, I know what's on one side of the train...these ripped up tracks. I think I'm gonna poke around the other side tomorrow though and see what's up over there.

17,335....(255)

Those are the number of steps I've walked today. Hmph...apparently I'm still obese however. Good grief.

O-bese---adj. Extremely fat; grossly overweight. Synonyms- corpulent, rotund, weighty.

So sayeth my BMI. Ok, well--now I know. I will say I'm a hair away from just being overweight and not obese. I can't wait to be overweight. Woohoo, go me.. (you can't see me rolling my eyes, but you can imagine it)

On a positive note. The walking is working out really nicely. I actually wore the heck out of Buffy tonight--I'm pretty sure she is obese as well.

As for the photos--they're not ducks are they?? This is the lame stuff I see when I walk during lunch!!!!!!!

Beggars would ride..(256)

Today, as always, I wished it to be Friday. Wishing for Fridays, working for the weekends. I have to stop doing that. I'm going to have to learn to enjoy the Mondays and Wednesdays as well. I'll work on that. Or so I say, till next Tuesday that is.
This shot makes me happy. I was at least 8 feet away from the dandelion when I took this.

Splish, Splash (257)

She discovered the fountains, and I let her. Stomping in the water. We all love that right?

Yellow Rose of Texas...(258)

Today was rainy, rainy, rainy. Most of my shots were not worth keeping.

Tom introduced Emma to the treadmill today. She thought this was quite fun.

All drains lead to the ocean...(259)

Fish tanks are cool.

I say that when it's someone elses fishtank. Our tank currently sits in the corner. Empty. With a plant on top of it.

We got this tank about 5 or 6 years ago. Myabe longer. It was a pretty nice one when we got it..but I guess I'm jumping ahead here.
It all started with a trip to the Dallas aquarium. On the way home the hubby and kids insisted we stop at the pet store and spend a gazillion dollars on the whole set up. I always say I was lucky we didn't visit the zoo that day or else there would be monkey cages in my back yard. I was also assured I was not going to have to do anything for these fish. (Lies, all lies)

I think 2 months into it and the fish were my responsibility. So, now after years of these fish tormenting me and making me miserable--the tank sits empty in the corner. I really like it that way.

American Traditions (260)

Remember those days. Saturday morning cartoons. sitting on the couch in your jammies anticipating what cereal your going to get. So, here she is munching her banana.

She also got her first taste of MCDONALDS!!!!!! Oh my. At least it came with milk and not soda. We'll cross that bridge another time. Buffy enjoyed it as well.

Employment Part Deuce..(261).

Or Daisy actually. Look, she's still throwing Tshirts, signing autographs and scaring small children. Ah, employment is good.

Actually it's very very good. Today really was all in my face telling me that. I spoke to someone today who had to have an appointment as soon as possible--she said if she waited till the end of next week she'd probably have no more gas left for the month by then and wouldn't be able to make it there. Well, honestly that took me off guard. Not enough gas to get 8 miles and no resources to get what you needed?

I mentioned it to someone else who admitted they had called in sick the day before payday before for the same reason...not enough gas to get there.

I then heard that a distant cousin just shot himself due to employment and economic reasons in the past couple days. I'm shocked, and very grateful for my lot in life right now.

So, now that I've been a big bummer just remember how much worse it could be.

Apple Cinnamon (262)

Firstly let's talk about these two boys. Rarely do you run into boys like this in high school. They are just goofy and don't care what anyone thinks of them and their antics. Obviously they are great friends and they are lucky enough to have girl friends that don't mind their games of hilarity. They really are a bunch of fun together and are constantly goofing off. From what I gather they're friendship is only a couple years old, but they definitely think alike. They never seem to coordinate their silliness, they just do it. It's good to see that kind of friendship. It happens with girls as well, but not as frequently. I've seen girls sync like this, but there always seems to be some underlying competition or negativity with girls.

On other thoughts however, I ate oatmeal today. I can't remember eating oatmeal ever before. Possibly when I was a toddler or so. I've spent years feeding it to my kids and the kids I babysat. Every flavor you can imagine. Cinnamon and apple, blueberry, all the fruit and cream and dinosaur egg and the ones with the jelly swirl stuff. Nowhere along the line have I ever had the desire to even try tasting the stuff. So as silly as it seems, I had no clue what oatmeal would taste like. I've mostly eaten grits or cream of wheat (along with a half pound butter and sugar to go in it)...even funnier is that oatmeal cookies are my ultimate ultimate favorite. So, what did I think of the oatmeal?? Eh, it's ok I guess. I'll eat it again. The whole cholesterol thing and it's supposed to be super good for you. So, hooray for oatmeal.

Gather ye Rosebuds while you may(263)

Lauren's first dozen. I'm sure they'll be more to come. I always wonder what is the appeal of roses. There are so many others out there which would be just as good at representing love and romance. At least those flowers would be thorn free.
