Hawaii Part 1

Today I post one solitary photo.  The very first photo I took in Hawaii. After this there are about 1009 left to look at, sort through and edit.  But for now, this is my very ,very first photo from the deck of my hotel room. I normally wouldn't have considered keeping this photo.  It's pretty average compared to other's I took.  But it was the first click of the camera.

It was definitely a view one would stereotypically expect for Hawaii. Oahu to be exact.  I miss it already.  Mountains to the left of me, a harbor in front of me, the ocean and beach to the right and a beer in my hand. Did I mention I miss it?

Oahu--The Gathering Place

This is just a tease.  Again, more phone downloads but these are of Oahu.  I haven't even downloaded the camera yet.  These photos make me miss it already.

Celina Balloon Festival

This is a continuation of my cell phone downloads.  We took Emma to the Celina  Balloon Festival.  I didn't take one photo with my actual camera.  Also, due to the wind not one balloon went into the air.  They had a bit of other things to keep us occupied however and Papa got to spend all his dollars for Emma. These are also not edited so don't expect much.

And this is what the ride home looked like.

Emma's Selfies

We just got back from Hawaii, so as I'm sure you can imagine I have tons of photos to edit.  Since we literally JUST GOT BACK mere hours ago however you will not see any of those photos today.  Instead you will be subjected to my random 'housecleaning' or in this case phone cleaning.  I uploaded all my phone photos onto my computer today and find Emma must have gotten my phone at some point and had herself some picture time. So without further delay these are from the mind of a 4 year old. (almost 5).  Enjoy

Hippie Dippie Doo...

Yarn Bombing is the best thing ever.  I love every aspect of it.  It's so creative and beautiful to see.  The colors and the textures.  I'm gonna show you a big yarn bomb soon, but in the meantime here is a random tree I saw a couple weeks ago.  I love how they used the different textures and patterns were used.  The person really made an effort to create something lovely.  Success.

Someone please come do this to the tree in front of my house.

Dallas Arboretum

I have wanted to go to the Dallas Arboretum for a very long time.  We've lived here for so long and have only been there one time for a  wedding which limited the scope of seeing the arboretum.

Specifically I wanted to go when Chihuly was being displayed.  Ugh.  Can you imagine how much my camera would have enjoyed that.  I missed it.  Not like it was there for just a short time.  It was there for months and months but I missed it.

So, I was dead determined to get out there.  The next display was Alice in Wonderland.  (it was a sign right?) So I chose a day and went.  It was a million degrees.  The display was less than spectacular.  It was plain obvious however that the facility is amazing.  I'm sure in the Spring and the Fall a day out there would be perfect.  My day I chose however I wanted to leave or combust as soon as possible and end my misery.

It was the wrong part of the day and way too sunny when I shot these.  The clarity is off--cause I was busy melting all over my camera.

Shelby the wise all knowing...

This is Shelby.  Shelby wanted absolutely 'Nothing' to do with having photos done.  I imagine it is a similar situation to Emma in which she has a camera pointed at her so much in her little life.  She was clever, she knew exactly when the camera was pointing at her and she was not even gonna give up a morsel of a smile.
Oh but those eyes.  I'll take it...
As for Emma (who has been allowed a huge hiatus from modeling in front of my lens) I plan on attacking her right after we get back from Hawaii.
Ahhh, Hawaii.  I hope I bring pretty things to show you from there.

Not Eggs-actly sure...

And not eggs-actly certain if I'll stay or if I'll go on this blog.  So I race in here, drop a couple photos and run out again.  Maybe I'll be back and maybe not.

Old photos.  Graduation gift.  The fellow who got this didn't quite understand what to do with this.  His mom had to explain to him to crack the egg.  I hope he was good in some other subject since Logic wasn't exactly his forte.

Hang on Woody...

Slowly peeks back into this space.  This place.  Long left quiet....

Do I want to open this back up?
